History

The RCNPP's historical origins date back to 1959 when a group of residents in Puerto Pollensa took the first steps in setting up the Club Nàutic Port de Pollença. Two years later, on 23 April 1961, the Club was formally established in a General Assembly under the leadership of Mr. Francisco Javier Marichalar y Bruguera, Marqués de Ciria with 25 members and proceedings began to enable the building work to start. The foundation stone was laid on 14 August, 1961. Just over 27 years later, significant expansion and modernization works were carried out, lasting twelve months. In January 1993, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I granted the Yacht Club the title of ‘Real’ (Royal).
