The Real Club Náutico Port de Pollença has created the Marine Ecology Classroom, a non-profit space where marine scientists are provided with the means to carry out studies on Pollença Bay and its waters. Professionals are involved in this project, as well as schools and colleges in the Balearic Islands. We invite you to contact us to enjoy one of our workshops free of charge. We will also participate in your educational projects on the marine environment.
The Marine Ecology Classroom structures its activities around three main tasks:
- The study of the marine environment
Including biotic and abiotic factors and human impacts on the waters and coastline of Pollença Bay. In addition to conducting our own studies on Pollença Bay, we offer scientific and logistical support to institutions wishing to research this environment. We currently collaborate with various CSIC institutions. If you would like to collaborate, please contact us!
- Environmental education
Aimed at schools and colleges in the form of dynamic and practical workshops. The workshops we offer, covering a range of topics, are our way of preventing human impact from occurring. We believe that ‘loving the sea’ comes from knowing and understanding it. You will find our information sheet, with an explanation of each workshop, at the bottom of the page. To book a date or request information, please contact us by email.
- Scientific dissemination
In our Marine Ecology Lecture Series, on the last Friday of every month at 7:00 p.m. (subject to change), we organise a meeting where marine scientists share their research in a relaxed atmosphere in the RCNPP hall. Admission is free! Follow us on social media to find out the next date.
